Worth the Cost

The battle begins

Before light hits horizon

A beckoning call

Orders I will rely on

Invisible armor

And strength from above

Freedom is calling

I will fight for His love

Press forward with truth

Forget what’s behind

Mercy revealed

Being of the same mind

Follow the path

Of the Original Soldier

Stand fast dear beloved

This is what He came for

A heart full of longing

Held in a body that’s dying

Life is found through giving

And God knows of our crying

A gentleness awaits us

When we return from the field

Battered and worn

Yet our future is healed

Washed in pure worship

Let praise speak His Name

Nothing and no one

Will come out the same

The things I have gained

Are counted as loss

Yet nevertheless

Gain a prize worth the cost

Inspired by Philippians 3 & 4

For my husband and my friend Julie

“…but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this…” 3:13 TPT (This phrase is translated from the Aramaic.)

“…whatever things are true…noble…just…pure…lovely…good…meditate on these things…The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” 4:8 OSB

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” 4:13 OSB
